The Serio Natural Park affects the course of the homonymous river in its stretch of plain, from Seriate to the confluence in the Adda, near Montodine. The protected area has an area of 7,477 hectares in the provinces of Bergamo and Cremona.

Description
The Serio was born in the eastern Orobie Alps, in the upper Val Bondione (Berbellino Lakes) and flows into the left bank of the Adda near Montodine, after a 124-kilometer journey through landscapes of suggestive beauty. Between the mountains it runs through a long valley to which it gives the none (Val Seriana), arrived in the plain it touches Bergamo and bathes Crema.
Palata di Menasciutto Reserve
Partial Biological Regional Nature Reserve; established with D.C.R. July 28, 1988 n. 1178
The reserve concerns the stretch of river that stretches between the municipalities of Pianengo and Ricengo (CR) and occupies an area of 11 hectares. It constitutes a riparian environment, of great landscape effect, closed between two dead river branches and intersected by the Serio.
